Roy Espinoza Vale, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away on May 20, 2026, at Memorial Hermann Southeast in Houston, Texas. Born on December 22, 1961, in Houston, Texas, Roy lived a life marked by warmth, passion, and devotion to family and friends.
Roy was a man whose heart beat to the rhythm of rock and roll music, particularly the timeless oldies that brought joy to his soul. He took great delight in taking control as DJ at gatherings, curating the perfect soundtrack to every occasion. Whether he was cooking up a storm on the BBQ or simply sharing stories around the table, Roy’s enthusiasm for life and love of good company was evident to all who knew him.
Family meant everything to Roy. His greatest joy was his granddaughter, Zaliyah, for whom he lived with pride and affection. His loving presence will be deeply missed by his wife, Diane Navarro; his daughter Dana Gallegos; and his many siblings: Delilah Fernandez, Scotty Vale, Acey Vale, Romeo Vale, and Valleri Garcia. Roy also leaves behind his father, Roy Martinez Vale, who, along with his entire family, will carry his memory in their hearts.
Roy’s legacy is also enriched by the memories of those who preceded him, including his mother, Audelia Espinoza Morales; grandmother, Alice Vale; grandfather, Julio Vale; aunt, Sylvia Paez; and uncle, Julio Valentine. Though they are no longer with us, their influence and love undoubtedly shaped the remarkable man Roy became.
His passing, surrounded by family, marked the end of a chapter filled with laughter, music, and togetherness. Roy Espinoza Vale, Jr. was more than a devoted family man; he was the heart of every gathering and a figure of strength and love.
Visitation will take place from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at Grace Funeral Home, 4910 Willowbend Blvd, Ste E, Houston, Texas 77035.
As we remember Roy, we honor a life lived fully and with purpose—a life defined by his love for cooking, his passion for music, his dedication to family, and his joyous spirit. He will remain forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know and love him.
