Luis Ochoa, Jr., born on May 23, 1964, in Hoopeston, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Holland, Michigan. He leaves behind a legacy marked by his passion for design and construction, having earned a degree from Texas State Technical Institute in Drafting and Design Technology-Mechanical in 1986 after graduating from La Joya High School in 1983. Luis was extremely knowledgeable in creating floor plans for construction projects and took great pride in his accomplishments throughout his career.

Luis was a fun and happy person who filled the lives of those around him with laughter and joy. He especially cherished his time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, with whom he shared many unforgettable moments. His love for gadgets was evident in the excitement he displayed when acquiring items such as ATVs, motorcycles, and bikes for his grandchildren, always eager to enjoy these adventures alongside them.

Traveling to Mission, Texas, and spending time at his vacation home was a source of great happiness for Luis, offering him the perfect backdrop for creating cherished memories with his loved ones.

Luis is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marissa Ochoa; his two children, Samantha Ochoa and Oscar Roberto Ochoa; 3 grandchildren, Marissa Margarita, Reyna Ruby, and Luis Ochoa; 12 siblings, Jose Alonzo (Maria De La Luz) Ochoa, Gracie (Robert) Goodwin, Graciela (Alejandro Correa) Ochoa Correa, Miguel (Shannon) Ochoa, Petronila (Victor Campos) Ochoa Campos, Margarita (Ladislao Caldera) Ochoa Caldera, Jaime (Yolanda) Ochoa, Arnoldo (Cecilia) Ochoa, Jose Alejandro (Diana) Ochoa, Eduardo (Sonia) Ochoa, Aracely (Fernando) Rocha, and Alma Alicia Ochoa, he is also survived by over 150 of his nieces and nephews who will miss his silly jokes and mischievous laughter.

He is predeceased by his beloved son, Luis Ochoa, III, as well as his father, Luis Ochoa, and mother, Margarita Ochoa, and a brother, Javier Ochoa.

The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Iglesia Ebenezer, 157 W 10th Street, Holland, Michigan, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a 7 PM funeral service.  His memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
