Lue Jean Green,79, a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 18, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on January 1, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Lue was a man known for his quiet resolve and unwavering dedication to his family and work.
Lue was a man of few words, but those who knew him understood that he always meant what he said. His deep love for sports was well-known, and he found joy in sharing this passion with his loved ones. He was a hard worker, always striving to provide for his family and serve as an example of diligence and perseverance.
Lue is survived by his son, Eugene Green, and a remarkable lineage that includes his grandchildren Rodrick Valin, Jaylen Green, Jalisa Green, Brianna Green, Mariah Green, Azure Green, Eugene Green, Jr., and Harley Green and a legacy of 14 great-grandchildren who carry forward his spirit and values.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Green and Clara Green, and his five siblings, including brothers Leonard Green, Elijah Green, Jr., James Green, and Bobby Green, as well as sister Patricia Green-Walker. Each of these individuals played an important role in shaping Lue's life and character.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Grace Funeral Home, 4910 Willowbend Blvd, Ste E, Houston, TX 77035. A celebration of life will start at 11 am on the same day.
