Lisa Antonia Dallas Rivas, a cherished member of her community and beloved friend, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was born on February 20, 1981, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Maria de Jesus Olmos de Dallas and Olan Benny Dallas. Lisa was a dedicated paralegal at Jones Galligan Key and Lozano Law Firm, contributing her expertise and passion for more than a decade.
An enthusiastic sports fan, Lisa had a particular admiration for the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. Her spirit was also that of a marathon runner, reflecting her commitment to health and fitness. Throughout her life, she maintained close ties with her junior high school friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Deeply devoted to her family and friends, Lisa was an active member of the Serra Satellite Club of McAllen-Weslaco of The United States Council of Serra International. Whose mission was to foster, promote and affirm vocations to priesthood and religious life. She found joy in gathering with others to pray, as well as supporting those seeking ordination through various fundraisers. Furthermore, she was a valued member of the ACTS Sister at San Martin De Porres Church in Weslaco.
Lisa's love for animals was profound. She cared for many rescues and had a special bond with her dog, Rocket. Her favorite animal was the elephant, a sentiment influenced by her mother and a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Lisa leaves behind her beloved husband Domingo Rivas, Jr., her sister Rosa (Michael) Payne, and her step-children Noah and Jasmine Rivas. She is also survived by her treasured nieces: Samantha Kilgore, Taylor Burdette, Jacklyn Kehoe, and Raquel Payne.
The community will gather to honor Lisa's memory with a visitation held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a 7 PM rosary at Eternal Light Funeral Home, 201 Broadway Street, Elsa, Texas. Funeral Mass will take place at 10 AM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 600 S. Oklahoma Ave, Weslaco, Texas. Immediately following mass, Lisa will be laid to rest at Sacred Park Cemetery 12506 N Mile 2 W, Mercedes, Texas, commencing at 11:30 AM.
Her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
