On March 20, 1960, in Tuskegee, Alabama, the late Samuel Thomas Berry and Lillie Pearl Wade Berry welcomed a beautiful baby girl. Her name was Jacqueline Denise. She was raised by her parents and grandparents in the quiet community of Rosenwald Heights and spoiled by her big brother Raymond. At a young age, Jackie professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Midway Baptist Church. She later became a member at Chedaw A.M.E. Zion Church in Tuskegee, where she enjoyed the fellowship and worship services at both churches. Jackie began her formal education in Tuskegee public schools and went on to graduate from high school in Illinois. Jackie went onto Houston Texas, where she attend Texas Southern University and worked in Houston Independent School District in special education. Jackie's love of art and creativity led to many accolades during her career. She was just as talented when it came to cooking, gardening, decorating and doing hair. Her life and memories will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Tala, Chauncey, MorGann, Brandie, Matthew (Shannon), Gabriel, Loren (Will); nineteen grandchildren: a great-granddaughter Journey; brothers, the late, Raymond E. Wade; nieces, Mistye and Corliss; nephew, Raymon; aunt, Frankie Wade; cousins, Constanie Lucky (the late C.J.), the late Dr. Ronald Lomas, Jewell, Ja'Mella and Christopher Lomas (Kellie, Kayla), Reginald Wilson, Marilyn, Larry, McArthur Wade, Linda Wade Allan, Regina Wade, Brenda Bentley Parrish, Corine, Bentley Wright (Ala), and Ray White; a host of other relatives and friends.
