Fa'Nun Frank Woodberry, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, was born on March 31, 1996, in Houston, Texas. He passed away on May 10, 2025, in the same city, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Fa'Nun graduated from Manvel High School in 2014, where he showcased his talents both on the basketball court and the football field. He continued his education at Texas A&M Kingsville and recently completed the firefighter academy, pursuing a path that reflected his dedication to serving others. Fa'Nun had a vibrant personality that lit up any room. He was known for his fun-loving spirit, always ready to joke and make those around him laugh. His supportive nature and deep care for his siblings and children were evident to all who came into contact with him. He took immense pride in his role as a father; his children, Yomii Ann Woodberry and Loyal Iman Woodberry, were his everything, and he was theirs.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Fa'Nun had hobbies that brought him great joy, including drawing and an enthusiastic love for basketball, inspired by his favorite player, LeBron James. He had a distinctive sense of style and loved dressing well, which further complemented his warm personality. His outspoken nature and love for life endeared him to many, making him a cherished figure in the lives of his family and friends.
Fa'Nun is survived by his caring mother, Sherrell Barnes; his loving father, Frank Howard Woodberry; his bonus mom, Pamela Woodberry; his siblings, Tashona Barnes, Shenique Barnes, Ashley Lewis, Jada Barnes, Devonte Barnes, Shajerrica Williams, Chrystalyn Moore, Ferrari Woodberry, and Cameroon Woodberry; his maternal grandmother, Sharon Barnes; his maternal grandfather, Velton Jackson; his paternal grandfather, Fred (Beatrice) Woodberry, Jr.; and Kenya Farahkhan, the mother of his children; a host of cousins; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Anne Stroud; his maternal grandparents, Otis Moore and Audrey Hughes; and his Aunt, Helen Barnes.
As we remember Fa'Nun Frank Woodberry, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, support, and an undeniable spirit that touched so many hearts. His legacy of love will continue to resonate in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
Family and friends will gather for the viewing at 5 p.m., with a 7 p.m. service, Friday, May 23, 2025, at The Collective, 12401 S Post Oak Rd, Houston, TX 77045. A graveside service will take place the following day at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581.
