Elijah James Lisoyi, a devoted pastor, visionary leader, and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026. Born on June 6, 1962, Elijah lived a life marked by unwavering faith, generosity, and dedicated service to others.
Elijah’s journey was deeply rooted in his commitment to Christ, having given his life to ministry at a young age. He met his beloved wife, Afolake Florence Adeoti, at the Redemption Camp, an encounter that would set the foundation of their shared calling and family. Together, they were blessed with three beautiful children: Toluwani Lisoyi, Oluwatobi Lisoyi, and Oluwatomisin Lisoyi.
An inspirational figure, Elijah was known not only as a spiritual leader but also as a caring father, and mentor.. His remarkable generosity and compassion touched countless lives. Throughout his life, he never pursued a traditional job, relying instead on his faith and divine provision to sustain both his ministry and family.
Elijah earned a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Liverpool in Liverpool, England, a testament to his commitment to personal growth and leadership. At 29 years old, the same year he married, Elijah embraced his calling to ministry fully and began a journey that would impact many nations.
He and his wife started their ministry in Nigeria before answering the call to serve in Mozambique. In 2001, they were sent by the Redeemed Christian Church of God Missions to Maputo, Mozambique, where Elijah’s steadfast dedication led to the establishment of the RCCG headquarters in Maputo and the founding of approximately 30 parishes nationwide. His visionary leadership transformed countless communities, fostering spiritual growth and unity.
Elijah is fondly remembered as a giver first and a mentor second—his life was a beacon of inspiration, guiding many toward hope and faith. His remarkable ability to inspire and uplift others remains a lasting legacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ayoka Owonkiko Lisoyi and Pa James Owonikoko Lisoyi. Elijah's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his wife, Afolake Florence Adeoti, and their children, Toluwani, Oluwtobi, and Oluwatomisin Lisoyi.
A viewing will be held on May 8, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Grace Funeral Home, located at 4910 Willowbend Blvd Suite E, Houston, TX 77035. This will be followed immediately by the funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. The burial will take place thereafter at Houston Memorial Gardens, 2426 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Elijah James Lisoyi's life was a testament to faith, love, and selfless service. He leaves behind a profound spiritual legacy and an enduring example of how a life devoted to God and community can flourish through grace and dedication. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
