Elida Ochoa, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on March 15, 1942, and throughout her life, she radiated joy and happiness. Elida was known to be the life of the party, always greeted with a smile and an infectious laugh that could brighten everyone's days. Her passion for life extended to her love for music, with a special fondness for the melodies of Elvis Presley and Lalo Mora, artists that echoed her vibrant spirit.
Elida cherished her family above all, leaving behind a legacy of love and strong bonds that will endure through the generations. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Eva (Freddy) Perez, Janie (Chano) Moreno, and Norma (Ramon Martinez) Ochoa; her sons, Ruben Ochoa and Michael Ochoa; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Guadalupe Willis, Connie Espinoza and Tina Espinoza, as well as her brother Santos Espinoza.
Elida is preceded in death by her husband, Amando Ochoa, and her sons Amando Ochoa, Jr., Domingo Ochoa, and Robert Ochoa. Her granddaughter, Yadira Ochoa, also passed before her..
To celebrate Elida's life, a visitation will be held on July 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary scheduled for 6:30 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Funeraria Del Angel Mission, located at 3611 N Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573. The funeral service will be held the next day on July 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, located at 1104 S Main St, Penitas, TX 78576.
Elida's joyful spirit and loving nature will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. The memories she leaves behind will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends for years to come.
