Carole Ann Mills (Ceecy)

October 15, 1941 — December 7, 2025

Carole Ann Mills, affectionately known as “Ceecy” to her family members, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 7, 2025 in Houston, Texas. She was born on October 15, 1941 in Austin, Texas to Reverend N.A. Mills and Nell Mills, also known as Dadoo and Nanny. Ceecy was raised in Center Point and Waco, Texas, and graduated from Waco High School in 1959.

Ceecy attended the University of Texas at Austin, and studied accountancy at Houston Baptist University. She worked in Accounting for many years and retired as an Accounting Manager at Halliburton Baroid. She always had a cat for a pet – she loved her cats! She also loved the color purple, especially purple flowers, as could be seen by her many posts on Facebook.

Ceecy was a very Godly woman, and was a devout lifelong Baptist who enjoyed gatherings with her Sunday school group. Ceecy was a big fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Houston Astros. For many years she would attend Houston Astros home games with her friends. And for many years in the 1980’s, she attended Houston Oiler home games with her sister and brother-in-law, Gay Nell and David Thorndike. She enjoyed the hobby of scrapbooking. She made memory books for family members containing photos, memorabilia, and decorative elements. Another of her hobbies was genealogy, researching the history of her family and sharing it with her loved ones.

Her nieces and nephew have many fond memories with her from trips to the symphony, movies, and countless sleepovers. She was a constant source of laughter and fun. She was lucky to be surrounded by so many supportive and loyal friends and neighbors. She very much enjoyed her time with all of them.

Ceecy is preceded in death by both her father and mother, and her younger sister, Gay Nell Thorndike.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, David Thorndike, and two nieces, Lindsay Soechting and Hayley Thorndike, and a nephew, Blake Thorndike. She is also survived by her grandniece, Emory Soechting, and grandnephews Charlie Soechting, Mason Thorndike and Noah Thorndike.

Viewing will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a a church service starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Christ Church Sugar Land, 3300 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, TX 77479. A reception will follow immediately following the church service, where family and friends are invited to gather. Her remains will be laid to rest at International Order of Odd Fellows in Rockdale, Texas.

Carole will be dearly missed by family and friends and now rejoices in heaven with our dear Lord.
