In Loving Memory of Angus Cardinal

Angus Cardinal was a man full of life, laughter, and love. He had a special place in his heart for children, always finding ways to tease them playfully and turn their little moments into joy and laughter. His humor, often laced with a sharp wit and a touch of sarcasm, made him unforgettable—you could always count on him to say something that left everyone smiling.

Angus also loved to sing. From time to time, you could hear his voice carrying old Baptist hymns, a reminder of his deep roots and the faith that shaped him. He was a wonderful cook, and for a time, even catered professionally. But cooking was more than a skill to him—it was a way of bringing people together.

In his younger years, he served as a police officer in Trinidad and Tobago before migrating to the United States in the mid-1990s, first to Florida and later to Texas, always in search of better opportunities for himself and those he loved. Along the way, he became a true jack of all trades—working as a chef, carpenter, EMT, and even a preacher. Whatever he did, he gave it his full heart.

Angus was strong-willed and lived life on his own terms, but always with the best intentions. He wanted the best for others, often offering advice, encouragement, or simply a listening ear. To his friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers, he was a source of laughter, strength, and wisdom.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Neikylle Kerron Gomez; his daughter-in-law, Shelly-Ann Gomez, and his daughter; Kyerri Cardinal, as well as his grandchild, Tristan Gomez. Angus is also survived by the mother of his daughter, Patricia Cardinal; his siblings: Everton, Evelyn, Rohna, Brian, Cowen, Onasis, Marjorie, Lennox,  Mavis, Janet, and Reynold. He leaves behind a rich legacy of family, including nieces and nephews: Arlene, Eston, Aaron, Damian, Deana, Deronne, Kalifa, Jesse, Reuel, Terrance, Torrencia, Asha, Kaneisha, Ria, Katrina, Karim, Kierron, Dianna, Christy, Keba, Kamaria, Kyle, Antonio, Onassis Jr., Onessa, Chrystie, Marsha, Ronald, Jillian, Leon, Lisel, Lydy, Leslie, Lenisa, Leon, Gerrod, Kevon, Larry, Andre, Rhea, Kerry, Collin, Barry, Adanna, Maurisa, Adissa, Leann, Kristan, Diamond Jillean, Tiana, and others including their respective spouses and children.

Angus was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Nicki, and his mother, Elfrida Cardinal-Cooper, along with his brother, Glen Nickie.
